About the Role

We are seeking an experienced System Administrator (Contract) to support and enhance our on-premises and hybrid infrastructure. This is a hands-on, onsite role, requiring deep technical expertise in servers, networking, virtualization, and databases, as well as strong skills in automation and monitoring. You will be responsible for keeping our infrastructure secure, reliable, and scalable while following best practices across both AWS and on-prem environments.

Key Responsibilities

On-Premises Infrastructure

  • Manage and support VMware ESXi, VMs, load balancers, switches, and storage systems.
  • Install, optimize, and maintain databases (MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Manage and monitor ElasticSearch clusters.
  • Automation & Configuration Management
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Standardize operational processes to ensure repeatability and efficiency.

Monitoring & Observability

  • Deploy and maintain monitoring solutions with Grafana, Prometheus, and InfluxDB.
  • Manage centralized log systems with Elasticsearch and Kibana.
  • Security & Reliability
  • Implement and enforce high security standards across AWS and on-prem systems.
  • Conduct system hardening, backups, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Collaboration & Support
  • Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting for infrastructure and networking issues onsite.
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to meet infrastructure requirements.

Qualifications

Required

  • Proven experience with VMware ESXi, virtualization, storage systems, and networking equipment.
  • Strong Linux systems administration background.
  • Proficiency in automation tools: Ansible, Terraform, Python scripting.
  • Hands-on with Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB monitoring stacks.
  • Experience managing MySQL and MongoDB databases.
  • Familiarity with Elasticsearch and Kibana.
  • Understanding of AWS security best practices.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
  • Relevant certifications (AWS, VMware, Linux, etc.).
