Job Description

What you get to do in this role:

• Lead architecture design
• Design the high-level structure, or blueprint, for software systems, ensuring the overall system is scalable, maintainable, and secure. Get design approved by relevant review processes.
• Drive architectural questions and decisions to resolution
• Interact and collaborate with parallel and interfacing functions in and outside the org
• Be responsible for architectural documentation and keep it up to date
• Hands-on leading of POCs required for architectural decisions, or critical to unblock dev teams
• Architecture implementation tracking
• Review and give feedback on detailed design
• Be involved in architectural questions that arise during implementation
• Act as stakeholders and give feedback in demo presentations
• Request implementation review for chosen features
• Proactively drive innovation based on new or untapped technical capabilities
• Be the technical authority in your areas of responsibility:
• Become the go-to person when someone needs technical consultation and advice
• Set coding and implementation standards (publish standards, code reviews, etc)

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
• Advanced knowledge with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
• Highly professional and experienced in developing on the ServiceNow platform.
• Experience with system level software design. Curiosity and a drive to learn.
• Ability to drive decisions using soft authority.
• Capability to manage multiple projects with material technical risk across teams and processes; may serve as a functional lead or technical owner
• 10+ years of experience with Java or a similar OO language
• Passion for JavaScript and the Web as a platform, reusability, and componentization
• Experience with any of the modern UI frameworks like Angular, React or Vue
• Advanced knowledge experience working with relational databases including development, troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Experience with multiple technology stacks: Cloud Dev, Platforms, Web Dev, Frameworks or service–oriented architecture
