Overview

Come aboard as our Senior DevOps Engineer  and spearhead the modernization of Moneyboat's technology stack. You'll design and own a secure, lightning-fast CI/CD platform, harden our cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and lay the foundations for real-time data streaming and AI-ready services. Working hand-in-hand with engineering, product, security, and data teams, you will ensure that every line of code travels from commit to production smoothly, safely, and at scale—empowering us to deliver faster, simpler, and more transparent borrowing experiences for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Architect & evolve a cloud-native, GitOps-driven CI/CD pipeline with baked-in security checks, automated testing, and one-click rollbacks.
• Lead infrastructure & security strategy—from VPC and IAM design to secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and incident response.
• Implement and manage container orchestration (Kubernetes/GKE), service mesh, and automated provisioning (Terraform / Pulumi).
• Enable large-scale, real-time data pipelines (Kafka / Pub/Sub, BigQuery) to power analytics and upcoming AI/ML workloads.
• Champion observability by deploying end-to-end logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Mentor & collaborate with cross-functional teams, instilling DevSecOps best practices and a "shift-left" mindset.
• Drive cost-efficient scalability—right-size resources, optimize build times, and keep our cloud bill lean without compromising performance.
• Evaluate & integrate emerging tools (SBOM, SCA, policy as code) to maintain compliance with FCA, GDPR, and ISO 27001 standards.
• Continuously improve deployment frequency, MTTR, and platform reliability through data-driven retros and experimentation.

Your skills & experience

Essential

• 5+ years in DevOps/SRE roles, including 2+ years leading or mentoring engineers.
• Proven track record building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar) with security gates and automated rollouts.
• Deep hands-on expertise with GCP (GKE, Cloud Build, Pub/Sub, IAM, VPC, Cloud Armor).
• Experience implementing DevSecOps tooling (Snyk, GitGuardian, or equivalent) and shift-left security practices.
• Solid knowledge of networking, container security, and zero-trust architectures.
• Working familiarity with real-time data streams (Kafka, Pub/Sub) and big-data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Excellent collaboration & communication skills; comfortable aligning engineers, product, compliance, and executives.

Desired

• Background in fintech, lending, or other regulated industries.
• Experience preparing platforms for AI/ML workloads (feature stores, GPU orchestration, model serving).
• Exposure to policy-as-code frameworks (OPA, Kyverno) and compliance automation.
• Familiarity with Python or Go for scripting, operator development, or custom tooling.
