Cloud Backend Engineer

We are seeking an experienced cloud backend developer to join our cloud compute team. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining our API-based and database-driven web applications that will drive our software engineering efforts and provide crucial control tools for our customers.

As a cloud backend engineer, you will play a critical role in developing new product features and infrastructures including testing and debugging complicated problems and algorithms. You will also write design and architecture documents, research and find the best technological solution in terms of scalability, high availability and redundancy.

You will integrate with all sorts of parts of a system, such as MySQL, Elastic, Redis and AWS services. Strong collaboration with DevOps, SRE and other development teams is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new product features and infrastructures including testing and debugging complicated problems and algorithms
  • Write design and architecture documents, research and find the best technological solution in terms of scalability, high availability and redundancy
  • Integrate with all sorts of parts of a system, such as MySQL, Elastic, Redis and AWS services
  • Strong Collaboration with DevOps, SRE and other development teams

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong fundamental software engineering skills (design patterns, algorithms, data structures)
  • At least 6+ years of experience as a backend developer
  • Experience in code and design review
  • Object-oriented development experience
  • Experience working in a cloud-native environment
  • Experience working in a Linux environment
  • Object-oriented development
  • Experience in Java, Spring or similar Object-oriented language and frameworks
  • Team player with strong social and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead others if required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with AWS
  • Experience with various databases, such Mysql, Mongo, Elastic search etc.
  • Worked in an Agile development environment such as Scrum/Kanban
