Job Description:
Sentra is a leader in cloud-native data security for the AI era. Our mission is to empower organizations to confidently scale their data operations across multi-cloud and on-premises environments while leveraging the power of AI without compromising security.

We are seeking an experienced Data Analytics Team Lead to help us scale our analytics capabilities. This role requires a hands-on leader who will be deeply involved in analyzing data, building classification intelligence, and owning data products and processes.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs), implement scalable data practices, and mentor a growing team of analysts.

This role is part of the R&D Data team, which is responsible for Sentra's data classification capabilities, including blending machine learning, large language models, and robust analytics to process millions of files and tables per day.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage, mentor, and support a team of Data Analysts.
  • Play a central role in Sentra's core mission, working closely with Engineering, Research, Sales, and Customer Success to align priorities and deliver meaningful insights.
  • Create rules and models to broaden Sentra's repertoire of sensitive data classes.
  • Develop and own robust success metrics for classification performance; monitor, evaluate, and iterate.
  • Analyze vast datasets spanning multiple organizations, cloud environments, and data technologies.
  • Create processes and tools that will allow non-technical stakeholders to have a clear view of scanning and classification KPIs.
  • Make the most of enormous amounts of data to help drive product and R&D decisions.
  • Work from within the R&D Data group, take part in discussions revolving around Sentra's data science objectives, priorities, and solutions.

Requirements:
  • Degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis, including at least 2 years in a team management role.
  • Proficiency working with SQL, and data execution frameworks or tools (Spark, Airflow, Dagster, Snowflake, etc).
  • Basic understanding of descriptive and inferential statistics.
  • Basic programming and related skills, e.g., python, git.
  • Can-do attitude. Problem-solving skills, self-starter, proactive mindset.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in the cybersecurity domain - an advantage.
  • Experience with cloud environments - an advantage.
  • Experience implementing automatic processes using LLMs - an advantage.
