About us:
The Galilee Culinary Institute by Jewish National Fund-USA (GCI) is a first-of-its-kind, total-immersion culinary institution located in the heart of Israel's Galilee, in Kibbutz Gonen. Nestled in a unique micro-climate where fertile farmland, mountains, and rivers converge, the region is poised to become Israel's premier hub for agriculture, tourism, and food innovation—on par with destinations like Tuscany and Napa Valley. GCI serves as a catalyst for population growth, regional development, and narrative change throughout the Upper Eastern Galilee.
GCI brings together an unprecedented mix of culinary education, hospitality experiences, and community impact under one roof. Our campus includes a culinary school, café, bakery, beer brewery, wine shop and tasting room, gift shop, outdoor event venues, and dedicated spaces for corporate experiences. We offer daily cooking programs, farm-to-table activities, and a state-of-the-art culinary broadcast studio.
In addition to academic excellence, GCI is built upon deep collaborations with Tel-Hai College, MIGAL Galilee Research Institute, and Margalit Startup City Kiryat Shmona, fostering innovation in food technology, agriculture, research, and entrepreneurship. The institute also serves as a hub for tourism, marketing, public relations, business and operations management, partnerships, and fundraising.
GCI is committed to community enrichment through programs for children, seniors, individuals in therapy, and multicultural initiatives. Together, our culinary, agricultural, and educational platforms shape a vibrant ecosystem that positions the Upper Eastern Galilee as the emerging culinary and food-tech capital of Israel.
