Solar & Stars Observatory Visitor Center Guides

Are you passionate about space and love sharing knowledge with others? We're looking for Visitor Center Guides to lead engaging tours and educational experiences at Solaris visitor center – our Solar & Stars Observatory Visitor Center

What You'll Do:

Guide visitors of all ages — both adults and children — through exhibits, experiments and activities in the visitor center.

Explain astronomy concepts in an engaging, accessible way.

Assist with special events, group tours, and educational programs.

Inspire curiosity about the universe

Who We're Looking For:

Students or individuals with a background in science (astronomy, physics, or related fields).

Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching.

Enthusiasm for space and a willingness to learn.

Scientific background.

Experience in public speaking or guiding.

Bilingual—Hebrew and Arabic - advantage.

Location: Isfiya, Israel and other locations

Observatory Operator

Our observatory is dedicated to exploring the Sun, the stars, and the universe — and to sharing that wonder with the public. We are looking for a passionate and skilled Observatory Operator to join our team.

What you'll do:

Operate and maintain telescopes and observatory equipment.

Support research, monitoring, and data collection in solar and stellar astronomy.

Proactively engage and collaborate with research institutes and academic partners.

Assist with planning and execution of observation sessions.

Contribute to science communication, education and public engagement activities.

What we're looking for:

Academic background in Physics / Astrophysics / Astronomy (or equivalent knowledge).

Experience with telescope operation and astronomical instruments.

Strong knowledge of astronomy concepts and observational techniques.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with scientific institutions.

Proactive, organized, and motivated by curiosity and discovery.

Advantages (not mandatory, but a big plus):

Experience in public guiding, science communication, or education.

Ability to inspire diverse audiences by making complex ideas engaging and clear.

Position type: Part-time
